Disc golfers always want things in their bag that help make the round more fun and less annoying. The issue is, space. How do you reduce space used in your bag?
One item that can have several uses and solve problems on the course is resealable ziploc bags.
Intro to problem
Usages:
Score cards in the rain
Towels in rain
Playing in the rain means your grip on the disc will be compromised. Dry towels on the course are important. Putting the towels in a ziploc not only keeps them dry, but allows the towels to be compressed in your bag so they take less space and you can carry more towels. In addition, once the towels get wet, you can put them in empty ziplocs to keep the rest of your gear dry until you get home. This save mold and mildew from forming in your bag.
Garbage
Disc Golf courses don’t always have the best amenities. Trash cans are one of those things. Keeping courses clean means we get to keep our sport growing because we can show we do actually care. Sodas and other treats brought onto the course are much lighter once consumed, so packing them out is easy in a ziploc bag. Look for a parking lot dumpster when you are leaving the course and throw the ziploc full of trash in it.
Birdie bag storage
Chalk should be on your hands, not in your bag. Even in Gyms chalk is contained so it doesn’t get everywhere. Keeping the bag dry also extends its life.
Hand warmer storage (extend the life)
Typical hand warmers can be good for up to 6-10 hours, a disc golf round is maybe 3 on a bad day. Storing your hand warmers in a bag will allow you to use them on the next round. A ziploc bag seals the air out and stops the chemical reaction in the warmers, saving hours of life.
Insect repellent/sunscreen/first aid storage
Liquids spill, ziploc bags keep your expensive bag cleaner.
Storing the Toilet paper
Rugged courses that disc golfers play often don’t come with amenities. Keeping TP in the car in a ziploc keeps it clean and dry. Take the whole bag into the facilities and it still stays dry even when it is wet from rain and “other” things.
